N ext to Lyceum stands the Church of the Sign - the oldest stone building in Pushkin, built in 1734-1747 by the design of architect I. Blanka. The church is named after the icon of the sign. According to the legend, Peter the Great blessed his daughter Elizabeth on this icon shortly before his death. The building of the church is topped by a small cupola. From the western side there is a bell tower with a tall spire. The iconstands inside the church are well worth seeing.
