There are many swimming pools in St. Petersburg. Most stadiums and sports facilities have them, and you may visit almost any of them after receiving a doctor's certificate of good health.
Call ahead. Before going to a pool in St. Petersburg, phone and ask for the schedule, admission policy and fees. Also ask what, if any, documentation you might need from a physician. You can buy memberships in some of the pools.
What-to-bring. When you go to a pool, be sure to bring swimming suit, towel, goggles, a bathing cap (for men and women), soap, rubber or plastic sandals, all in a plastic bag that can be hung up. Shoes are often left in the cloakroom.
Try some of the pools listed under HEALTH CLUBS or this entry.
