St. Petersburg Pay Phones are the most visible of the four with the special booths. Instructions in the booth are in Russian and English. Local, intercity and international calls can be made from these phones. They work from prepaid chip cards, which can be purchased in metro, newspaper kiosks and Savings Bank branches and are available in 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 400 or 1000 units (one unit meaning one minute of phone call).

BCL Pay Phones specialize in local, intercity and international calls and can be found in select locations throughout the city. These phones accept major credit cards as well as BCL cards which can be purchased in the establishment where the phone is located.

Metrocom Pay Phones, are located in the metro stations throughout the city. To place a call, you need a special Metrocom phone card, metro token or coins.
