AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION IN LOCAL AREA File Created: 28-Jan-03
Both airports (Pulkovo-1 for domestic flights and Pulkovo-2 for international flights) share the common runway, and are located 17 km south of St. Petersburg, close to Pulkovskoe highway.
The airport is 30 minutes by taxi from the center of St. Petersburg. State taxi service is available to the airport from anywhere in the city and is quite reliable even for early morning pick-up.
A bus trip from metro Moskovskaya to Pulkovo-1 takes about 25 minutes, a trip to Pulkovo-2 takes about 15 minutes.
To Pulkovo-1 (Domestic): From metro Moskovskaya you can get to Pulkovo-1 Airport by Bus No. 39 or route taxi (minibus with 10-12 seats) No. 2.
To Pulkovo-2 (International): There are several ways of getting to Pulkovo-2 Airport. Bus No. 13 and route taxi No. 13 run from metro Moskovskaya every 20 minutes or so, while route taxi No. 213 leaves from Sennaya Square. If you travel with heavy baggage or just don’t feel up dealing with public transport, there are always plenty of TAXIS and AUTOMOBILE RENTAL SERVICES.
Getting from Pulkovo-2 airport into the city is more difficult. We highly recommend that you be met by a driver at Pulkovo-2. The only public transportation running from Pulkovo-2 is city bus No. 13 and route taxis No. 13 & No. 213. Taxis at the Pulkovo-2 Airport are de facto monopolized by a “dispatcher” and his handyman so that you can expect to pay $25-30 for a few miles ride.
