Suburban Commuter Trains called Elektrichka or Elektropoezda serve all the suburbs of St. Petersburg. Many of the commuter stations (often just "platforms") in St. Petersburg are shown on our Traveller's Yellow Pages
City Map of St. Petersburg and the region.
The "elektrichka" commuter trains usually have hard wooden benches, no amenities, foul toilets if any, and can be very crowded on weekends in summer when people go off to the dacha.
Tickets and monthly passes: Single trip and monthly commuter tickets can be bought at the station of departure. The ticket booths are noted for each station on the line.
