Russian Beer. Most Russian beer (pivo) is unpasteurized and should be enjoyed fresh and cold. Beer bars pull it from the keg. It's inexpensive and declared "excellent" by some cognoscenti and an "acquired taste" by others. According to our staff the best Russian beers in Moscow are: Tverskoe dark, Tverskoe prazdnichnoe dark, Hamovniki light, Tsar-pushka (Tsar-canon) light, Tverskoe light, Porter dark, Radonezh light, Ostankinskoe light; and the worst are: Yachmennyy kolos, Zhigulevskoe, Moskovskoe, Rizhskoe. But it depends of your taste. Taste and choose, and you’ll find we are probably right. Russian beverage bottles are recycled.
