Finding Phone Numbers. Phone numbers change very frequently and many numbers are not available in official phone books or from TELEPHONE INFORMATION which only has the "Official Subscribers" list. In particular organizations and people that rent offices and apartments will not be listed with the phone company. See also TELEPHONE INFORMATION.
Note that the first three digits of the phone number often indicate the specific area and even the street in Moscow. Satellite phones have special codes and can be difficult to reach inside the city.
Telephone Books. There are many varieties of telephone directories on Moscow, some in English, many in Russian and even some "on-line" through computer. There are no white pages with alphabetical listings of subscribers. This information, however, is available from Telephone Information and "on line".
