BARS (85 listings) File Created: 28-Jan-03
There are hundreds (maybe now thousands) of places to drink in Moscow, ranging from simple beer bars (Pivnoy bar, ïèâíîé áàð) and smoky grill bars to authentic German Bierstubes and English pubs with beer on tap, sophisticated hotel bars and swinging "Night Bars" and "Night Clubs" with live music, dancing, and erotic shows. Businessmen, foreign and Russian alike, tend to gather at Western style bars located in hotels and restaurants. Virtually all hotels and casinos have bars, some filled with well-dressed, very pretty and very friendly Russian girls.
While most bars have imported beer in bottles and cans, some bars and restaurants have imported draught beer on tap. These are noted after the name, e.g., Carlsberg.
The selection of wine, champagne, cognac, and vodka both domestic and imported brands has greatly improved since the last edition and now you can even find several varieties of single malt scotches.
The bars given here are primarily for drinking, but many serve good bar snacks.
There are karaoke bars, sushi bars and even sports bars with huge satellite antennas. Enjoy. Here are a few.
